VTC FAQ and Troubleshooting Guide
- Q: VTC is crashing/closing immediately after it's launched; what could be wrong?A: Check that you have installed the latest nVidia drivers if you are using an nVidia video card.
- Q: What do the green rectangles around vehicles mean?A: A green rectangle around an object indicates that it has been detected.
- Q: What does a circle following a vehicle mean?A: A circle following a vehicle indicates that it is being tracked.
- Q: The vehicles in my video are not being detected, tracked or counted. What's wrong? A: Check your ROI; does it include the area that the vehicles occupy? Are the objects larger than the minimum object size in configuration?
- Q: The vehicles in my video are tracked, but not counted. Why not? A: Check that the vehicle paths are longer than the minimum path length in configuration. Check that the approaches and exits are configured correctly.
- Q: Vehicles are being counted as the wrong turn type. A: Check that your approaches and exits are configured correctly. Review region configuration guide. If the camera is mounted too low, it can be difficult to correctly distinguish turns in some circumstances.
- Q: What format of output does the software generate? A: VTC outputs several CSV files including movement counts binned into 5, 15 and 60-minute bins. VTC also generates a summary report for each video.
- Q: Can I do anything to speed up the software? A: You will get the best results using a PC with an nVidia GPU having 6GB RAM or more. Otherwise VTC will default to CPU-only mode. Within the software, the user may reduce the hypothesis-depth and branch-factor configuration values to yield faster processing at the cost of reduced accuracy.
- Q: Why is VTC running slowly even though I have an nVidia GPU with 6GB+ of VRAM? A: Ensure that the nVidia GPU drivers have been installed (nVidia driver download page).
- Q: Does the software classify vehicles? A: Moving objects are classified into the following groups: cars, people, trucks, buses, motorcycles, bicycles
- Q: How fast can VTC process video? A: VTC runs at around 15FPS when a sufficient GPU is present, and around 0.5FPS otherwise.
- Q: Can VTC detect vehicle speed? A: Not right now. Maybe in a future release.
